What’s in My Nail Polish? Learning About Nail Polish Ingredients

As we become more conscientious about what is going on in the world around us, we are taking more notice of what is in what we put into our bodies, and what we put onto our bodies. More women are becoming increasingly aware of what may be in the nail polish that they are applying to their fingertips, especially as warnings of cancer and infertility have both been linked to its use.
309 nail polish ingredients What’s in My Nail Polish? Learning About Nail Polish Ingredients
So just what is in nail polish and can we become sick just by using it?
How Nail Polish Began

Nail polish has been around for centuries, and has been featured in many ancient paintings and depictions of famous queens and princesses (such as Cleopatra). What was used as “nail polish” then was of course quite different from what we use today. Oftentimes an iron oxide shade was rubbed onto the nails of women, or their fingers were even dipped in blood to give that polished nail look.
Nail polish was first created commercially in the 1920s by Michelle Menard with the intention of replicating the paint that you would find on a car. Women loved that shiny, varnished gleam of car paint, and so the first nail polish was just that – car paint! Nail polish has come a long way from those days, but the ingredients continuously evolve and change as nail polish demands change.
Nail Polish Ingredients Today
Nail polish ingredients today vary from company to company and formulation to formulation, but the general base of all nail polish is the same. Conventional nail polish contains:
  • Nitrocellulose
  • Solvents
  • Film forming agents
  • Plasticizers
  • Resins
  • Coloring agents/dyes
Nitrocellulose is in almost all traditional formulations of nail polish today. The nitrocellulose is mixed in with tiny, microscopic cotton fibers which are then manufactured in such a way so that they are even turned into smaller cotton particles. This ingredient is needed to help give the nail polish the desired thickness or “viscosity” that a company wants (so that the nail polish isn’t of a thin, water-like consistency) though the nitrocellulose/cotton particle mix cannot stick to the finger nail without some extra help.
This is where a polymer, such as a plastic or a resin is used. The plasticizers help form links between polymer chains, which allows the nail polish to be slightly flexible. The plasticizers, when mixed with a resin, help keep the nail polish from simply dissolving in any sort of soap and water or detergent solution.
Next comes the pigmentation and dyes. These, of course, give conventional nail polish their color and their added sparkle. A thickening agent is then used with the pigment and dye to help keep the color suspended (this is particular important if you are using a nail polish that contains any glitter or sparkles).
Remember that the ingredients you find in a nail polish vary greatly depending on the brand and formula you are using. Conventional or “traditional” nail polish does have a very different formulation from the increasingly popular natural nail polish. Natural nail polish tends to have a water base rather than an oil base, and the dyes and pigments are derived from natural sources (such as the iron oxide that was used in ancient times) rather than lab created dyes and pigments.

Singapore Personal Trainer Explains How Healthy Foods Hurt You

Because of the large market for health foods, manufacturers will try to trick you into thinking a bad food is a healthy one in an effort to steal your hard earned cash.
Some scary examples will be shown below. Take care that you don’t get fooled by these marketers and protect your health and the health of your family and loved ones.

Orange Juice. How can the humble breakfast staple be an unhealthy products. Yes fresh oranges are a great sources of vitamins and are good for you, but orange juice can be a killer.
Why? Well commercial orange juice is made in huge processing plants. These plants take in vast quantities of whole oranges and crush them. Unfortunately this means that the skins are also crushed in the process. (Later to be used for animal feed)
That is a problem because of all the pesticides in the orange skins! These chemicals get mixed into your juice. These chemicals are choline inhibitors. That means that they interfere with your brains ability to handle memory and images. In effect, commercial orange juice is a brain toxin. Stay away!
Fake Healthy Food #2
Breakfast Cereals
Breakfast cereals are often seen as the “breakfast of champions” and this is exactly what advertisements will tell you.
Don’t fall for it!
Cereals are made from the ground pulp of grains. This pulp has close to zero nutrients because the fibrous and mineral containing husks of the grains are already removed. In addition, allergy to grains is very high especially among the Caucasian population.
An experiment at the University of Michigan involved 18 rats. They were divided into three groups: one group received corn flakes and water; the second group was fed water as well as the cardboard box that came with the corn flakes; the control group received rat chow and water.
The control group was fine. The rats eating the box were malnourished of course and eventually died. But the rats receiving the corn flakes and water died before the rats that were eating the box! (The last corn flake rat died the day the first box rat died.)
They also died a ugly death, which included schizophrenic behavior, fits, convulsions and biting each other.
The conclusion is that the cornflake box was more nutritious than the cornflakes!
Fake Healthy Food #3
Milk. Gasp, especially with all the celebs advertising for milk. Milk itself is not the problem, its just the low quality milk that is usually available to us! Raw, fresh milk from healthy organic cows is actually fine! But when we drink processed milk from unhealthy cows, we end up with…
Reduced Fat Content – Good fats like those in milk are NOT bad for us. But our modern milk has little of this. We use the fats in milk to absorb the other nutrients in the milk, so milk without fat can actually drain your body’s nutrients.
Watery, low nutrient milk – This is a result of cows unnaturally raised, fed bad things like soy and orange peels and rushed into milk production
Powdered milk – These milks are created with a lot of exposure to oxygen. This oxidizes the cholesterol and fat in the milk making is very unhealthy for us because of the increased risk of heart disease.

Organic Pharmacy Organic Glam Orange Blossom EDP

organicph Organic Pharmacy Organic Glam Orange Blossom EDP
When I was sent this to try, I had no idea how much it cost, so I’m just going to review it as though I didn’t know the price! We’ll come to that at the end.
Okay, so I am very, very fond of orange blossom fragrances, and can’t help but compare this to the Jo Malone Orange Blossom Cologne. Organic Glam takes the edge for me; it is less powdery in construction and you get a full belt of almost undiluted blossoms. Containing Brazilian Tangerine, Green Mandarin and Sweet Orange as top notes, they’re highly complimentary to the heart of Moroccan Orange Blossom. I can definitely pick up the citrus notes, but like chocolate sauce over ice-cream, they just make things better.

It’s a big, chunksome bottle that looks very classy; a fat crystally lid and thick, glass – it reminds me more of an aftershave bottle in fact, but that isn’t a negative. The fragrance is certainly powerful – you only need a tiny bit – and beautifully evocative of a Mediterranean summer.
The complexities of building an organic fragrance (this one is 100% natural and 85% organic) are many, and a familiar complaint with entirely natural fragrances is that they can be weak and without longevity in the wearing.
So, the price. It’s £112.50. Yikes. But, it’s 100ml, you do only need a tiny bit and I can see this being a real hit as a summer wedding fragrance. I like it enormously. Personally, I can see a market for a 30ml version that doesn‘t create such a hole in the pocket..but ya know, does anyone ever listen icon smile Organic Pharmacy Organic Glam Orange Blossom EDP .

Kiko long lasting stick eyeshadow

 Kiko long lasting stick eyeshadow
These eyeshadows are not the first Kiko product that I review.. Truth is, this Italian brand makes some really great and affordable makeup!
Kiko long lasting stick eyeshadow Kiko long lasting stick eyeshadow

I bought the first stick eyeshadow in Spring, and I’ve been using it almost everyday: it’s number 06, a medium brown with a nice shimmery finish.
In my opinion these are some of the few so called “long-lasting” products that actually live up to their name: I apply it all over my lid, smudge it with a brush or my fingers straight away because it sets really quickly, and it literally won’t move or crease all day long!
 Kiko long lasting stick eyeshadow
A couple of weeks ago I bought another color: number 07, a light shimmery beige that looks great paired with no. 06 for a natural and super easy everyday makeup.
INs:
  • very pigmented
  • long lasting
  • easily blendable
  • quite affordable (€ 6,90)
  • it comes in 16 shades
OUTs:
  • I’ve noticed that no.07 is slightly less pigmented than no. 06
  • all the shades have a shimmery effect, so if you are more into opaque shades this might not be the best product for you
  • Kiko products are only available in

Provillus: A perfect natural solution for hair loss

No one wants to lose one’s hair. People seem doing each and everything to keep their hair for long. Whenever they have to undergo hair loss, they find themselves in an unending quest for the best hair loss product.
Almost each and every product claims to regrow your hair and calls itself ‘the best’. Some of them become the cause to even vanish your remaining hair instead of regrowing hair. But there is one product that can be really very helpful in this connection and this product is known as Provillus. Provillus is an FDA approved hair loss treatment and it has been supported by many celebrities. Let’s have a brief provillus review.
The question is why people would opt for such a low-cost treatment for hair loss when there are many expensive and more effective treatments are available like laser therapy etc. The answer is simple.

provillus Provillus: A perfect natural solution for hair loss
If there are one hundred effective hair loss treatments, there are one hundred thousand side effects of them. Some of them have quite dangerous side effects that can be quite hazardous to your life. Contrarily, Provillus has been developed with all-natural, powerful herbs that prove very effective to defeat baldness without producing any side-effect. Different reviews prove that provillus is the best source to enable your hair growth.
Aside from these minerals, vitamins and herbs, it comes with the topical solution that you directly apply on the scalp. Thus, you tackle hair loss internally as well as externally.
You need not to do a lot of thing to make the most of this treatment, as it’s quite easy to apply this liquid to the scalp. Oily, messy and greasy residues, which are quite common in many other solutions, are not found in this treatment as it dries up fast and leaves nothing bad and itchy.
The good thing about Provillus is that it’s also available in a women’s version and many women have found it quite helpful to overcome their hair loss and now they are writing review regarding amazing results of that product.
